Tarion Warranty FAQs
Is the warranty transferable to a subsequent owner?
Yes. The Tarion warranty remains with the home for a total of seven years from the original date of possession. Any subsequent owner of a home under warranty benefits from the balance of its coverage.
I’m not the original owner of a home under warranty. What should I do?
Contact Tarion to let them know you are the new owner right after you take possession. Have your purchase agreement and transfer deed ready, as Tarion will need copies to update their records. Once registered as the new owner, you can sign up for Tarion’s MyHome and access the remaining warranty coverage on your home.
